A review for July- YouTube, meet Tumblr. Tumblr, meet YouTube.

Today, we’re looking at Collabrakadabra, Latest in very good collab channel featuring Sonnet, Adam, Harry, Lloyd and Nancy. Now, the five are more famous in Tumblr and that’s where I found them (although I found the channel first).

This gives a serious point. Most people I watch on YouTube have a Tumblr and people who tumblr tend to move on to YouTube. The two media is fluid in participants but essentially incompatible.

Especially now that they’re owned by competing companies, it’ll be harder to reconcile with the two site.

YouTube should take note on freedom of layout and posts on Tumblr while maintaining the same features. They all have the same stuff, but in different places. If you log in, follow tags or go to mobile, the layout is standardized because it could be standardized. But they decided not to.

Tumblr should learn from YouTube of how to be acquired. How to use Yahoo’s strengths and fund money to people and ideas or... wait they already do that... no, they do that, too... hmmm...

Anyway, the two sites should go get coffee together because they might be interested in each other. (By the way, did I tell you that Tumblr is like Myspace with modern social features? Yeah.)

PS: Oh, the channel? Collabrakadabra is a very dedicated in their collabradors, collabrakadets and the viewers ,then there’s that early bump plus the perfect combination of strangely alluring Sonnet, Michigan naivete Adam, perfect british guy Harry, Analytical but funny Lloyd and cutetastic yet mysterious Nancy. It’s a good combination and themes are not half bad.
