Going off from Tessa... Most famous and most controversial of Tessa’s friends is person we call by the name of Ray William Johnson.
Now, as in most channel, I liked Ray and his story up till he went outside three years ago.
Ray started out doing political video and with suggestion of Will started doing internet review instead.
His format of three video with transition and comment proved very popular but he forgot what he had in most.
The best comparison is with Wheezy Waiter. Wheezy screws around with concept of news... Ray screws around with concept of review... Wheezy and Ray both have their running jokes. But Ray moved from those as he thought he was unnecessary. Wheezy, however improved and refined his running gags and slowly build the audience... Ray seems so forbidding as some points.
His video became slow. Compare his videos in 2010 or so... his video were just faster and more energetic than most. Now, it seems he’s back to August of 2009 and he first got that Watchmen poster.
Okay, so Beginning of 2011 is when I turned away from Ray. He was getting stale and he was not transitioning very well with the gags. You have the gags going flat but he didn’t mind changing.
As you look through the video, you can see the man growing his ego to eventually being popped and turned back his normal self.
Guest video worked for the worst for the Ray and he started falling through the troposphere.
I don’t know. Does Ray need his redemption? His recent video seems calmer and more collected... He seems happier. He’s got an actual girlfriend and things are cooling down for Ray. Also he has TV show coming up, so that’s that.
I guess the question is what we can learn from this man, that ego should overtake your videos? That having famous people around you doesn’t cut it? That content and productions varies and you should think about it?
Was it the maker studio that trashed him or himself? Probably both... But I don’t much have a say on the upper echelon of the YouTube sphere.
Tomorrow, I’ll take a few step and look the brothers who is trying to make it mainstream and how that is bad... and good. See you there. (Sorry, I feel so corporatised....)
