Year in Review: Charlie and Alex Day

Sorry for missing yesterday and hopelessly filling with uncommitted series.

But let's get started on the review!

My Top 5 video from Charlie in 2012

5. Time to Reply- One of very few song made me cry on the first hearing. It was genuine, yet dreamy like those candies that grandma gives you when come for Christmas. Enigmatic too, like where did the idea come from and why did he decided to write out as a song? Anyway, it's beautiful and I listen to it from time to time.

4. Charlie with Hank!- Charlie's mid-life crisis has everyone discuss everything: 'Is his YouTube rules stupid? ', 'Where could I bu that calendar?' and 'Will Hank finish the Portal with Charlie?' But to me, I picked the video where Charlie talks with Hank, because it reminds me that Hank has become Galileo of YouTube. (As in, famous YouTubers come and discuss their philosophy with him when they have a crisis.) Does that mean his middle finger is going to preserved forever? Maybe not.

3. Super Survey- Just because it introduced many people to the World of Ciaran O'Brien. He is an amazing guy.

2. The Other Charlie- Clever, nice and Very Charlie. Enjoyed it very much.

1. I'm Scared- Not everyone can make a big discussion in YouTube, and get something from it. But Charlie did it twice in one year. This video in black and white is not only well put but also thought-provoking as to a person who'll never thought making videos will get him so much attention. But now, everyone single video does. Gonna admire this guy.

NOW for Alex and HIS videos of 2012.

5- Record Label are Rubbish: After Alex Day had a smash hit in Forever Yours, three companies decided to bring him in. He rejected all of them. I don't know, he's being excessively pompous or just has a strong hope for YouTube but... that's Alex Day for you. (Also recommend: Hitler and Sex by John Green for his take on old media.)

4- Nicki Minaj lyric dissected- Just watch it for the brillance of Alex Day. (Warning: NSFW)

3- The storyboard for Good Morning Sunshine: Best storyboard ever.

2- Why does Olympics matter?- (Turns on TV) (watches a girl doing a nerdfighter sign in international television.) (looks at phone) (sees the same girl on your twitter feed) (ask the girl to see her) YouTube magic.

1- The summer songs: On infinite loop as we speak.

(Note: does anyone realize Good Morning Sunshine sounds like a State Farm jingle?
Alex Day: "Good morning sunshine, I hope that you're well"
State Farm: "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there"
Don't tell me they have different melodies, because they totally do.)

Thank you for another hastily made blog post by David Kim. Thank you.
