One of Vlogbrothers fond tradition was Nerdfighters Blurbing book club, where people posted blurbs of the book selected and John will pick some out. Well blurb is interesting. The word 'Blurb' came from 1907 by a prominent San Francisco humorist Gellet Burgess. In 1906, he put a limited copy of his new story
Are you a Bromide? at a trade association dinner. Custom was to make dust jacket advertising the book and with picture of a damsel. In this book, the women was called Miss Belinda Blurb and... well, see it for yourself.
And so I suggest that for the next blurbing book club, we should have Miss Belinda blurb as our mascot. What do you think?
